Open Water Certification Dives - These are the dives that you'll do to complete your certification. They are much like a pilot's solo flights (however, you will never be diving solo!) whereas an instructor will evaluate your skills in an actual open water diving environment. This evaluation includes 4 dives, typically completed over 2 days. The price for these certification dives is not included in the Hershey Recreation Center fees and are paid at the time the dives are scheduled. These can be completed with us locally for approximately $240 which includes the instructor fee, certification card, gear rental, air fills, rental wetsuit, and dive site entrance fees for two days. These dives can also be completed with us on one of our tropical group trips or you can get a referral from us to complete the dives on your own vacation. You'll need to contact the dive facility and instructor at your destination for their fees (typically run from $200 - $300 for Caribbean locations) and fee of $25.00 to DDS for the referral paperwork.
REGISTRATION
1. Register at the Hershey Recreation Center or call 533-7138
2. Stop by the DDS shop to complete the medical and liability releases and to pick up your books and reading assignment required for the first class.
Classroom sessions (5:00-6:00pm) are held at the DDS store prior to each pool session (6:30pm - 8:00pm)
