| Dominica (pronounced "Dom-in-eek-a")
is an island of volcanic origins located between the French islands of
Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Eastern Caribbean, at approximately
15 degrees North latitude and 61 degrees West longitude. it is the largest
and most mountainous of the Windward Islands, with an area of 289.5 sq.
miles (754 sq. km). It is 29 miles long and 16 miles at it’s widest. Over the past few years, Dominica has earned the reputation as one of the top five dive destinations in the world. In addition to unique dive sites like "Champagne" which features a bubbling, underwater hot spring, Dominica's reefs are full of gorgeous multi-colored hard and soft coral, an abundance of reef fish and fascinating marine critters such as seahorses and frogfish. The underwater terrain is unique and diverse, providing dive sites suitable for all skill levels, from beginner to the very experienced. We’ll be staying at the quaint 15 room Castle Comfort Dive Lodge. All rooms have air-conditioning, private bathrooms, ceiling fans, direct dialing telephones and cable TVs. Other amenities include: wireless internet service (for a small daily fee), bar services on premises, hot tub in garden, pool and provided beach towels for boat dives, pool and hot tub.
